Speaker Proposal

Everyone has a big idea. Share yours at UCLA.

Note: The main TEDxUCLA Conference has been postponed while we work on securing a new partner.

However, we are actively working on a series of TEDxUCLA Salons while we work on new partnerships. Salons are smaller, focused events with 1-200 in attendance,  Not all talks are pushed up to the TEDx site, and are instead designed for live experiences with the Los Angeles community.  An example of one most recently produced can be viewed at: https://tedx.ucla.edu/design-and-music

We welcome your ideas and submissions.

Are you (or someone you know) exploring a unique perspective promoting new insight? Are you pursuing extraordinary projects right here in our local community? Is there a compelling story that can change how we interpret and affect our world? Does the idea need to be shared to grow?

We measure proposals by the power of the idea and if the TEDxUCLA platform can help propel the idea forward.  The speaker presenting the idea needs to have credibility in the space and be actively working on the idea, as well as have the time to work with us to do a compelling talk.  (Fair warning: it is a lot of work; there are rounds of coaching and reviews, all with the intent of helping you hit a home run when you walk out on the Royce Hall stage.)

We also seek experiences and consider performance an integral part of the day.

We’re seeking proposals from the UCLA community and beyond for our TEDxUCLA events. If you, or someone you know well, is doing something profound that’s appropriate for a TEDx talk, please fill out the form below. While we’ll review all submissions, we are a small team and cannot respond to each proposal.

Please see here for speaker guidelines on what we think makes for a great talk.
