Join us for an all day mapping celebration featuring a TEDxUCLA Salon, a GIShowcase of projects, a UCLA Geography Aerial Photo Exhibit, and much more.
About: UCLA’s GIS Day is hosted by the UCLA Library and the Institute for Digital Research and Education. Our partners include the Department of Geography, Luskin School of Public Affairs, Center for Digital Humanities, and the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology. In addition, this year we are holding a special TEDxUCLA Salon as part of GIS Day and a Mapathon. Thanks to TEDxUCLA and MissingMaps.org for helping us facilitate these events!
GIS Day is a world wide event that showcases real-world applications of GIS. The UCLA Library is joining the nationwide celebration of GIS Day 2016, an international effort designed to showcase real-world applications of geographical information systems (GIS) used in different disciplines and application domains.
GIS Day provides an international forum for users of geographic information systems (GIS) technology to demonstrate real-world applications that are making a difference in our society. At UCLA we will showcase projects using GIS in different topical areas and disciplines in the Research Commons on the first floor of the Charles E. Young Research Library.
